Council Committees

There are three council committees that prepare decisions, either on their own initiative or on a proposal from the College of B&W:

  • Finance and Governance
  • Space and Mobility (including Public Housing and Public Management)
  • Social Domain, Sports and Education

A council committee consults with the portfolio holders on information provided by the college and the administration conducted. The committee may also consult on issues proposed by the college within the framework of the active information obligation. The council committee meeting is intended to give direction to the college in preparing its proposals to the council. Finally, a committee has the opportunity to place a subject on the agenda for debate, to hold a hearing or to allow those involved to participate in the discussion. These are called speakers.

Every committee agenda includes the agenda item inform. The college may choose to explain certain topics by making a presentation to the committee. In addition, the council receives council information notes (RIN) from the college. These are placed on the agenda of the committee concerned. Committee members can ask the college (member) a question for further explanation based on this information.
