Digital security
Digital security for young people
HackShield is a game that empowers children between 8 and 12 years old against cybercrime. Through this game, children are trained to become Cyber Agents who can protect themselves and their surroundings from online danger.
By playing the levels you will learn about many important cyber security topics, and through the Quests you can also, for example, challenge your father, mother, grandfather or grandmother!
HackShield is working with many municipalities in the Netherlands. In fact, municipalities and police are looking for Cyber Agents who can ensure that they and those around them can use the Internet safely.
Check first, then click!
The best way to minimize cybercrime is to be alert. Check first, then click! By first checking a link, attachment or payment request for reliability, you avoid becoming a victim.
- Check the link by hovering over it with your mouse (do not click). Look carefully if you see any strange things in the link.
- Check the sender's e-mail address (beware, sometimes cybercriminals use an e-mail address that looks very similar to a trusted mail address).
- Do you receive an unexpected payment request from someone you know? Call on this person at the number you know and ask if it's true.
- Do you receive a payment request from a company? Call the company to ask if it is correct.
If you are unsure about a link, you can check it at checkjelinkje.. You can find more tips on how to avoid becoming a victim of cybercrime on the Safe and Don't make it too easy for websites.
