Doing Good Together
Doing good together
Not just any old three words. These words form the basis for the 2022-2026 coalition agreement. More than ever, it is important to seek each other out, reduce distances and bridge differences in order to do the right things for our municipality. We need each other!
Together
First and foremost, together with our residents. Together with our businesses, associations and institutions. But also together in cooperation with and within the City Council. We need each other to achieve something. Plans become better when they are supported. By bringing the right parties together, talking to each other and staying together we will get further.
Good
Doing the good things. For you, you, him, her. Everybody, in other words. We stand for making good decisions. To do that, we have our ear to the ground. A local government is more than ever the entry point for citizens and business owners to government. Can things be done differently or better? Unnecessarily complicated rules? Speak to us about it! Together with you, we'll make sure things get good or even better.
Do
There are major tasks that we must work hard on in the coming years. The further stimulation of housing construction remains an enormous challenge, but the introduction of the Environment Act and energy transition are also major issues that we must tackle constructively. Projects from the previous period that have not yet come to fruition will be taken forward. We will take plans from paper to practice. So get to work; do it!
The CDA Gemert-Bakel, Dorpspartij and Local Realists have come up with this coalition program containing firm challenges a nice ambitions for our municipality. These challenges and ambitions are the starting point for this coalition period. A period in which we will hopefully remain free from setbacks such as we have experienced in recent years through Corona, so that we can implement all the wonderful plans we have. Let'sdo good together!
Council functioning and collaboration with residents 1.
Of great importance is the proper functioning of the Council and what the Council needs in order to do this properly.
Giving substance to this in a more solid way is a priority in this administrative period. This is why a discussion paper for the Council is being prepared. This will be consulted with all groups. After this consultation phase, a proposal will be submitted to the Council so that decision-making and debate can take place in public and in full transparency, and so that a solid foundation can be laid for a desired way of working.
Topics covered in this council resolution include:
- Working with residents
Being more outside as a Council and less inside (the College offers working visits where appropriate, to the Council). - Cooperation within the Council
Improve decision-making process e.g. by starting to work with A-B-C meetings, improve information provision to council members, understandable documents for council and residents and council is involved in major projects at the front in an informative and timely manner. - Role of Group Chairmen's Consultation
Give more weight to the role of the Group Chairmen's Consultation by, for example, allowing them to help set the agenda for providing information to the Council. - Role of the Registry
As an independent and facilitating interlocutor for Council members.
2. Projects
1. Gemert center vision
Highlighted text: What we want together: We convert the Centrumvisie Gemert into a multi-year plan with financial support. We implement the projects from the Gemert Center Vision that are already in the budget.
What will we do well together: The process around the center vision Gemert is ongoing. This long-term vision will also be further elaborated in the coming administrative period, with citizen participation. This should lead to a multi-year plan with financial substantiation, with the plan being implemented in phases. In this administrative period, particular emphasis will be placed on: the link with the retail vision, making the center a low-traffic area, involving the entire area around Van de Acker terrain in the center including further vision creation of the Komweg into a green environment (Kompark), making terrace policy and including concrete projects that will be implemented in the coming years.
2. Castle in Gemert
Highlighted text: What we want together: We facilitate the development of the castle in Gemert following the frameworks established by the City Council. We realize the opening up of the gardens and estates.
What will we do well together: The preservation, through development, of the Castle is important for Gemert and Gemert-Bakel. In this the municipality is facilitating. The province also plays its role. We want to continue to preserve the castle whereby the opening of the gardens and estates remains of great importance. The frameworks established by the municipal council will be maintained.
3. Center plan Bakel
Highlighted text: What we want together: We elaborate phase 2 of the center plan Bakel. The MFA will be further elaborated and implementation will be started. A quick scan will be carried out for a ring road in Bakel. On this basis, the approach to the Schoolstraat will be determined. Positive consideration will be given to the developments for residential/care while preserving the nature/forest park on the Zorgboog grounds Estate Bakel. A suitable location will be sought for Fuse to continue its activities.
What will we do well together: The center plan Bakel is ready for phase 2 to be drawn up. The adopted plan is the basis to continue on. This period we are going to realize an MFA.
The coming period we will examine whether a ring road for Bakel is a solution for the traffic problems in the Schoolstraat. For this purpose a quick scan will be carried out. Based on this quick scan the approach for the Schoolstraat will be determined.
For the Zorgboog site, the developments for residential/care while preserving nature and the Forest Park are looked at positively.
The motion on the Fuse will be carried out, i.e. a suitable location will be sought where it can continue its activities.
4. Area vision around Parish House
Highlighted text: What do we want together: An area vision is being made for the corner parish house Bakel with a cut through to the new center of Bakel.
What are we going to do well together: In this vision attention is paid to the function and future of the Parish House in which the approach is to preserve the building as image-defining building for Bakel. In addition it will be investigated to what extent this corner and possibly the buildings around it are suitable for further development for the combination of housing/care but also, for example, a consultation office. A connection will be sought with the center (plan) of Bakel.
5. Milheeze center plan
Highlighted text: What we want together: We are taking a next step in planning for the Milheeze Center Plan.
What will we do well together: The planning for the Milheeze Center Plan is completed and the first steps in implementation are being taken. This plan contributes to a renewal of the MFA and the gymnasium. We are also committed to a livable center with a safe pick-up and drop-off route for the elementary school, sufficient green space and housing. The desire of the village for a supermarket should be given a prominent place in this plan.
6. Trade center redevelopment
Highlighted text: What we want together: We make a decision about the layout of downtown Handel.
What will we do well together: There is a plan and a recent survey for downtown Handel. These do not correspond. Before the end of 2022 we will come to a supported plan together with the village. In early 2023 a decision will be made to proceed with implementation. We are looking for a middle ground between what the village wants and the financial consequences. The starting point is a supermarket with housing and parking.
7. Commandery College
Highlighted text: What do we want together: What will we do well together: We are conducting a scenario study for Commandery College. Based on this we will make a decision which choice will be made for the future.
What will we do well together: For the Commanderijcollege an overall picture has been made with student projections and the corresponding standard amounts. Various alternatives have been mapped out. This will be followed by a more in-depth study of the whole in relation to the location. In line with the council's November 2021 motion, a scenario choice will be presented to the council in the fall of 2022. An amount will be included in the 2023 framework memorandum - in line with the aforementioned motion. The municipality is in the lead, the Commandery College will be involved as a full cooperation partner.
8. Mountaineer School and the Window
Highlighted text: What we want together: We realize new construction for the Berglar School and the Window together. We make a plan for the redevelopment of the Venster site. In 2023 we carry out the first implementation work for the new school.
What will we do well together: We realize new construction for the Berglar School and the Window together. We make a plan for the redevelopment of the Venster site. In 2023, we carry out the first construction work for the Berglar School.
New construction for the Berglar School is in the budget. The new building will be the replacement for both the Berglar School and the Window and will return to the site of the Berglar School. The site where the Window now stands can then be redeveloped. We will keep the Petrus Donders School with its own identity.
9. One House of Culture
Highlighted text: What we want together: We release a project budget for the most necessary investments in the existing premises until a decision is made on the Culture House. We keep the concept for 1 House of Culture intact.
What will we do well together: The concept for 1 House of Culture remains intact. We will use the coming period to make a directional choice for this. At the same time, the current premises of both Kunstlokaal and De Eendracht must be filled in. For this a plan must be developed in which the most necessary investments are included in relation to time. The starting point is that the buildings can continue to fulfill their function and people can be received there until the Cultural House is realized.
10. Experimental Garden Elsendorp
Highlighted text: What we want together: We bring the Elsendorp Living Lab to fruition and enable initiatives. In doing so, we explicitly involve the residents of Elsendorp and give them a voice in the development of the added value plan.
What will we do well together: The zoning plan with broadened scope for the Proeftuin Elsendorp is open for inspection. Many views have been received. Many discussions are being held in order to put our shoulders to the wheel, discuss and resolve the views. We are bringing the zoning plan to a successful conclusion and making initiatives possible. In developing the multi-value plan, the goal is to explicitly involve and give a voice to people from Elsendorp. The goal of the Experimental Garden remains, in the coming period we will let it come to fruition.
11. Golf Course Stippelberg
Highlighted text: What we want together: We develop golf course Stippelberg economically.
What will we do well together: The study on further development of the Bakel Lakes and recreation around it has been carried out. The results will be final soon. The challenge lies in the spatial component. We want to preserve the quiet area, which provides quality and opportunities. We look at the golf course and its surroundings integrally. Developments that pass by and interfere with the Stippelberg area must also be viewed in that way. There must be respect for space and tranquility, with which you can also reach a specific target group that likes to recreate in such an environment. With this development we guarantee that the Golf Course can pay back the loan provided by the municipality.
12. N279
Highlighted text: What do we want together: For the N279 we remain committed to a 2x2 lane, traffic safety and no detour at Dierdonk.
What will we do well together: The function of Gemert-Bakel within the Eindhoven Metropolitan Region (MRE) and Brainport must be part of negotiations. This should include the components of housing and accessibility. Gemert-Bakel must not be underserved in these areas.
13. De Peel Air Base
Highlighted text: What we want together: We remain committed to no reactivation.
What will we do well together: We will make a proactive plan for De Peel airbase in which the effects of nuisance are mapped out and the wishes for Gemert-Bakel are clear if the airbase is activated.
It is likely that the efforts on this file will increase in the coming years. The commitment is and remains: no reactivation. There are sufficient alternatives in the Netherlands, so why not there? Should reactivation become a reality, we will remain in discussion with the aim of compensating as much as possible for the inconvenience to our residents.
3. Building Blocks
1. Housing, heritage, migrant workers and public housing (including related Spatial Planning)
Highlighted text: What we want together: We accelerate housing construction and aim to realize 2,400 housing units within 10 years.
What will we do well together: We will create and apply a consideration framework for reviewing housing plans to achieve the desired housing acceleration. The goal is to keep housing construction going, even given current world conditions. We review the housing vision for each core and see where current standards for green space, water and parking can be adjusted. We facilitate Collective Private Ownership (CPO) and are positive about joint initiatives and special forms of housing such as tiny houses. The consideration framework contains a strategic approach to streamline the order of treatment of building plans. We examine how we can broaden the conditions for farm splits in order to increase the possibilities for farm splits. We are also creating a vision for residential-care combinations such as the "together at home - house," for example. This is another form of residential care for the elderly. In this we involve external partners such as Goed Wonen and the Zorgboog.
Highlighted text: What we want together: We are building for our own residents and workers.
What will we do well together: We will establish a self-occupancy obligation for all new homes to prevent investors from taking advantage of them. We will make a choice when allocating new homes where, in addition to giving priority to our own residents, we will also give priority to employees who work in Gemert-Bakel. We will make a priority arrangement for this.
Highlighted text: What we want together: We are prepared for the jump in scale that is upon us in the region.
What will we do well together: In order to accommodate the growth of activity and talent while continuing to provide an attractive residential and living environment for all residents of our region, a real spatial jump in scale is needed in terms of living, working and mobility. Towards the region we express the ambition to grow and thus to offer sufficient housing opportunities. We are on the edge. We do not want to miss the boat in Gemert-Bakel. We will therefore act regionally and proactively to be prepared for the jump in scale. We will proactively and strategically purchase land in order to realize the substantial housing task.
2. Transition outdoor area, landscape management, water and nature development (including related Spatial Planning and Environmental Vision)
Highlighted text: What we want together: We keep the outdoor area vibrant and livable. Any development should be an improvement for the environment. This includes encouraging the development of water and nature.
What are we going to do well together: In the environmental vision (area agendas) we are going to determine what will become possible where. We will stick to the agreement that politically sensitive topics come to the council. The odor policy will be evaluated and we will examine whether improvements are possible at locations with odor nuisance.
We are also evaluating the VAB policy. As a result of this evaluation, we will examine the extent to which adjustments are necessary, bearing in mind the goal of enabling retiring farmers to switch to other economic pillars. However, this must not be an obstacle for sitting farms. We determine when red for red can be applied and when customization is required, based on the principle that it must be reasonable, fair and easily explained to the environment. Wherever opportunities to combine water and nature arise, they will be seized. We conduct a dialogue with initiators in order to achieve more together in this area.
We will pay attention to the social and health component of entrepreneurs who cease their activities in the countryside and will play a facilitating role. The human measure is used and we actively move to go through the process of quitting together with the entrepreneur.
Gemert-Bakel is a municipality with very diverse groundwater levels, caused in part by the Peelrand fault. We are investigating whether a water storage standard per area better suits the needs. In the future, more and more peak showers will occur. We want to be ready for this as Gemert-Bakel. The coming years we will invest in the further disconnection of rainwater and the search for new water storage areas. These areas can ensure that heavy rainfall no longer leads to nuisance and can provide water retention in areas for drier periods. We will make a plan to deal with overflows and nuisance from them.
We will actively revoke "empty" permits to prevent latent space from being used. We will start with an inventory, then determine which permits will be revoked. We will start with the oldest permits.
We act in the spirit of the Clean Air Agreement and translate this for Gemert-Bakel into a plan of action (ready Q1 2023) containing 10 concrete improvement points to be implemented in the coming years.
3. Traffic, road maintenance and mobility
Highlighted text: What we want together: We make Gemert-Bakel more traffic-safe and improve accessibility.
What will we do well together: We will make a mobility vision for Gemert-Bakel so that we can make choices for both maintenance and management of existing roads and when building new roads. The starting point is that the roads will be designed to be sustainably safe. Extra attention will be paid to accessibility, vulnerable road users and safe sports and school routes.
Bicycle paths and sidewalks will receive extra attention in the coming period. Maintenance here will be given a major boost so that travelers will more quickly choose to walk or cycle. Optimization of the total bicycle network including express bicycle routes, both internal and external, will also be examined.
Highlighted text: What we want together: We are committed to alternative connection lines towards Eindhoven and Helmond, but certainly also towards Boxmeer and Nijmegen in order to make the sustainable scale leap in the region.
What will we do well together: Gemert-Bakel is a connecting link between Helmond and Meierijstad and Eindhoven and Boxmeer/Nijmegen. Between AgriFood Capital, Greenport Venlo and Nijmegen. Strengthening the N-roads structure, extending the A77, or a light rail connection (lobby for a station in Gemert) may be possibilities for this. Regionally, we signal that we are looking beyond the Eindhoven Metropolitan Area.
Highlighted text: What we want together: We are committed to a solution for the bottleneck Beekse Brug, an accelerated approach to the large traffic circle on Broekdalerlaan, the traffic circles West-om and Oudestraat (N272), a nature/walking area from Molen "de Volksvriend" to Beeksedijk near Champignonkwekerij Gemert (equal to Noord-Om) and a solid improvement of the N279.
What will we do well together: For the N279, we are committed to 2x2 lanes, traffic safety and no detour at Dierdonk, in line with the previously filed appeal.
Highlighted text: What we want together: We are committed to preventing further impoverishment of public transportation. Annually we advocate our wishes to the province regarding public transport. We are committed to strengthening existing lines and innovative concepts.
What will we do well together: We are investigating the possibility of an additional neighborhood bus from De Rips via Bakel to Gemert. In addition, we aim to increase the frequency of the bus to Boxmeer and achieve that it also runs during the vacations. In doing so, we seek cooperation with Land van Cuijk.
4. Economy (including business parks), retail, hospitality policy and tourism
Highlighted text: What we want together: In order to be ready for the jump in scale in the region, we are committed to adding more m² of business area. Such as in Bakel, Milheeze and the expansion of Smartpark in Gemert. We are also developing a vision for industrial estates Zandstraat and de Fuik.
Highlighted text: What we want together: We are improving services to our recreational business owners.
Highlighted text: What will we do well together: The night register will be simplified so that no more than the data required by law will be requested.
What do we want together: We are committed to more vibrancy in the center with preferably many events.
What will we do well together: We will create a terrace policy so that hospitality operators can expand their terraces. For events, we will examine whether they can be held in the center. Clear agreements must be made in advance with organizers, enforcement and stakeholders in the center. We solve nuisance situations together with the initiators and prevent them. Recurring nuisance ultimately has consequences for the continuation of events.
Highlighted text: What we want together: We encourage and strengthen tourism and recreation from our own identity and by thinking regionally.
We establish a vision for tourism and recreation.
Highlighted text: What we want together: We make sure business owners know who their point of contact in the municipality is.
What are we going to do well together: We actively pursue this both in communication and in consultation structures.
5. Sports, sports promotion and sports facilities
Highlighted text: What we want together: We unify the arrangements around sports property and continue the ongoing process of the sports property policy.
Gehighlighte text: We unburden sports associations on the subject of legionella.
What will we do well together: Legionella we take as a responsibility for the municipality. For this we will go through the process 1 on 1 with all sports clubs involved so that good unambiguous agreements can be made about this.
Highlighted text: What we want together: We strive to keep all sports associations afloat and look at what is needed to do so. As a municipality we are a connector and facilitator.
What will we do well together: We support cooperation between associations and omnisport. We encourage sport and exercise, striving to ensure that each core retains its own facilities. We reward associations that come up with good initiatives to stimulate voluntary work. For this we look at the possibilities in the subsidy policy and adapt this policy if necessary. We focus on rewarding initiatives in the context of reciprocity. We examine how we can enthuse newcomers to sports and/or become volunteers in sports associations. We do this together with the sports associations.
Highlighted text: What we want together: We facilitate and encourage our residents to play sports and create space for sports projects in relation to co-financing.
What will we do well together: We will keep the community sports coaches and make combinations in them with social goals such as elderly care and care for people with disabilities. We will stay connected to Uniek Sporten. The local exercise agreement and the local prevention agreement will be continued. We anticipate co-financing from the state such as, for example, movement gardens.
6. Finance, Construction Land and Real Estate
Highlighted text: What we want together: We will keep the municipal household book in order and continue the recovery plan.
What will we do well together: We will make targeted investments and adhere to the agreed rules for a healthy financial balance sheet. We will not increase the OZB except for inflation or if really necessary. We increase the budget for the purchase of land for housing acceleration if we can.
Highlighted text: What we want together: The municipality takes more of a lead in acquiring land and facilitating housing development. In doing so, land prices should be attractive and affordable.
Gehighlighte text: Property of the municipality should be in good view.
What will we do well together: For all municipal property, the status and future plan for this location is in view.
7. Village councils, MFAs and citizen participation.
Highlighted text: What we want together: We are committed to working effectively with village councils as interlocutors.
What will we do well together: Together we will further shape legitimacy with the village councils from their constituencies. What are the responsibilities/competencies? How are voices/signals collected from the constituencies? In this way we give the village councils a real position. We are keen on conflicts of interest.
Highlighted text: What we want together: We clarify and further harmonize responsibilities related to MFAs.
What are we going to do well together: We have an MFA in every core. It is important to make agreements about who is responsible for what and to strive for equality in this.
Highlighted text: What we want together: We further develop and support civic participation.
What will we do well together: We encourage and support civic initiatives if they solve a particular social problem and there is sufficient support for the solution. Through the council, the political position can be retrieved. We develop frameworks/guidelines for this that provide space for the interpretation of citizen participation. This will further shape the instrument citizens' initiative so that residents can use it.
Highlighted text: What we want together: We support volunteers better and give them more appreciation.
What will we do well together: Our volunteers are important for maintaining the beautiful social network structure we have as Gemert-Bakel and of which we are proud. These indispensable people may be appreciated more. This will receive extra attention in the coming period, among other things within the adjustment of the subsidy policy.
8. Public management (including neighborhood watch), playgrounds and trash
Highlighted text: What we want together: We raise the level of ambition for green maintenance to make the living environment more attractive.
What will we do well together: We will raise the ambition level for green maintenance to improve image quality. We will incorporate this in the green policy and green management plan. Together with our field service, Senzer and possible external partners, we will examine how to achieve and maintain the higher level of ambition. Our own field service continues to play an important role in this.
Highlighted text: What we want together: Through the Neighborhood Watch, we resolve bottlenecks related to livability and safety of public spaces more quickly.
What will we do well together: In 2022, we started the Neighborhood Watch. This delivers quick results in solving bottlenecks in public spaces. We will continue this in the coming period.
Highlighted text: What we want together: We ensure that play opportunities are more available for all target groups and ages. An attractive offer suitable for various target groups.
What will we do well together: We are positive about initiatives by residents themselves. Especially if an exercise program is also linked to it. This will be included in the update of the play policy. We will also pay more attention to play opportunities for older youth so that there are more places for them to meet.
Highlighted text: What we want together: We are committed to a cleaner Gemert-Bakel together with our residents.
What will we do well together: Garbage is still a major concern, for this we are developing policies that include topics such as hooks on lampposts and collecting small plastic deposit bottles. We support initiatives that help make Gemert-Bakel cleaner such as Clean Gemert-Bakel.
9. Energy and climate
Highlighted text: What we want together: We encourage residents to become more sustainable, generate energy and save energy by taking insulation measures. Landlords are also encouraged to take energy-saving measures.
What will we do well together: We are open to alternative energy sources that contribute to our climate goals provided there is sufficient support for them. The energy transition requires continuous adjustment because of rapid and unforeseen changes. But support remains paramount. The transition must be carried out in a well-considered manner, using real modern techniques.
Energy suppliers can be sought close to the customers in order to reduce costs and increase efficiency.
We take the initiative in the region, so as not to have matters imposed from above, to take cooperation in the field of climate objectives a step further. We support innovations and facilitate pilots in the field of energy.
Choices of energy suppliers or generators are made on the basis of efficiency and cost. Support is important but will not always be leading.
Highlighted text: What we want together: By restoring biodiversity, we maintain a healthy, attractive and future-proof habitat for people and animals.
10. Youth care, WMO, Participation Act
Highlighted text: What we want together: We are prepared for the future of healthcare.
What are we going to do well together: We will explore what is needed to keep the village supports functioning well. We will enter into strategic alliances with healthcare providers and external parties to be prepared for the future of healthcare. We have village supporters have conversations with young children who perform informal care to get them in the picture and to be able to organize something for them. We facilitate youth care locally and close by and we reduce the queues for youth care. We focus more on loneliness among young people and the elderly. We will see if we can fill the need for informal care homes and pre-mantle care homes (before you need care from the age of 65).
11. Debt services and poverty policy
Highlighted text: What we want together: Our residents to be able to participate in society.
What will we do well together: Society is developing digitally very quickly. We therefore give extra attention to people who are low-literate and therefore often have difficulty with digi skills.
There will be a stronger focus on debt problems. We will ensure more cooperation with administrators and budget coaches. To this end, a long-term vision will be developed that includes early detection.
12. Education and educational housing (excluding major projects in this area)
Highlighted text: What we want together: We maintain and continue the continuous learning line and secure basic education in each core.
What will we do well together: We maintain special education and pay attention to young people outside regular education. Additional educational needs we facilitate where possible in our own municipality.
The Integral Housing Plan (IHP) will be future-proofed and calculated.
13. Public health and prevention
Highlighted text: What we want together: We help young people grow up more opportunity-rich and healthy.
What will we do well together: We are concerned about the increasing addiction to such things as alcohol, drugs, games and gambling. We help young people between 12 and 20 to prevent addictions by offering alternatives, applying the Iceland model approach.
Highlighted text: What we want together: We support initiatives that help prevent loneliness.
What will we do well together: We will further investigate and implement opportunities to prevent loneliness among young people and the elderly. Examples include young people helping the elderly prevent cybercrime and linking child day care to day care for the elderly/elderly.
We are concerned about waiting lists to prevent depression symptoms and continue to consult with healthcare providers on this issue.
We continue to develop the municipality as a dementia-friendly municipality.
14. Personnel and organization, service delivery (including communications) and policy coordination
Highlighted text: What we want together: We continue the optimization of the organization as initiated.
What will we do well together: Organizational development will continue as agreed. We are committed to attracting talents, offering interns a place and developing policies for binding and retaining staff.
Highlighted text: What we want together: We are a warm welcome to our residents while maintaining human contact. We provide a high quality of service.
What will we do well together: Digital services will be improved with special attention to those less digitally savvy. Current topics on the website should be paramount so that they are easy to find. In addition, we will continue to facilitate residents at the counter. The protocol for service provision will be evaluated and adjusted in which we aim for a higher service orientation. We will also include this in the optimization of the organization.
We communicate proactively and at the level of understandable language.
In our communication we put the inhabitants at the center. We train our employees to be able to give substance to good communication. This communication fits with task-oriented or programmatic work. We are examining whether the Factor C method is suitable for this. The city council also plays a role in its communication in order to bring politics closer to the residents.
Highlighted text: What we want together: We work more programmatically to achieve the goals in our change tasks more quickly.
What will we do well together: By working programmatically, we can work together in a focused way to achieve goals of change tasks such as transitioning outlying areas, more customer-oriented services or better accessibility.

Highlighted text: What we want together: We are committed to having our own counter for declarations at City Hall. Everyone must be able to walk the streets safely.
What will we do well together: We are looking to connect with the police and BOAs to better and more quickly resolve neighborhood safety issues. We will put more blue on the streets.
We use the human measure in enforcement and we prioritize on the highest risks and the most nuisance.
We organize more synergy between the spatial planning process and enforcement so that the human measure and the best possible approach can result.
We will continue the Peelland Intervention Team and facilitate this team to the maximum.
We are committed to keeping the response times of the fire department and ambulance service as short as possible. We will enter into discussions with the fire department to see how we can better facilitate them to achieve this. In addition, we want to maintain our own fire stations. We remain committed to improving ambulance response times and maintaining the First Responder function.
16. Events, fairs and markets
Highlighted text: What we want together: We encourage vibrant centers.
What will we do well together: We encourage vibrant centers by bringing events such as festivals, markets and carnivals back to the centers. In doing so, we try to seize linking opportunities to stimulate the economy broadly. We will involve young people, in various age categories, more and actively.
17. Municipal Archives
Highlighted text: What we want together: We preserve and promote our own municipal archives.
What will we do well together: We will better promote the archive in Gemert so that people know better what can be found there. In doing so, we also want to improve and increase the use of the archive. We will see if more combinations can be made between the archive and recreation and tourism.
18. Culture, Cultural policy and cultural accommodations (excluding culture house)
Highlighted text: What we want together: We adopt cultural policies including an implementation agenda.
What will we do well together: We are preparing a new cultural policy. In the coming period this will get hands and feet with an implementation agenda that we make together with culture makers. With a focus on culture for children.
19. Regional cooperation
What will we do well together: Every alderman/portfolio holder takes a role in the region. By doing so, we bring opportunities to Gemert-Bakel and profile ourselves in the region.
In conclusion
This coalition agreement is supported by the political groups and candidate aldermen of CDA Gemert-Bakel, Dorpspartij and Local Realists. We have dwelled extensively on major and or strategic projects and the various policy areas in this coalition agreement. Nevertheless, this agreement is not complete. There will also be unforeseen topics coming our way during this coalition period. In addition, there must be room to implement initiatives from the community.
We cordially invite fellow parties, constituencies and everyone in Gemert-Bakel to enter and remain in conversation with us over the next four years. Conversations based on trust and respect. Only then can we do good together!
