Found objects

If you have found something , you can report it in person at the front desk or digitally report a found object external link icon.

If you find an object and you do not know who the owner is, you are obliged to report it as soon as possible. You do this at the municipality where you found the object. You can keep the object with you or deposit it with the municipality for safekeeping.

Lost and found objects with a daily value of up to €450 are kept by the municipality for three months. If the finder wishes to become the owner of the object, the retention period is one year. Found and lost objects with a daily value of more than €450, the municipality keeps one year.

If you decide to keep the object yourself, you are obliged to take care of its maintenance so that its condition does not deteriorate. If the owner does not report, you become the owner after one year. This is only possible if you have indicated immediately upon notification that you want to become the owner.

Bicycles found

There are a number of found bicycles, scooters and mopeds at the municipal yard. You can check the Found Bikes page to see if your lost bike has been found.

Lost objects

If you have lost something , you can report it in person at the counter or make a digital report of a lost object external link icon. The municipality registers your report of the loss of an object. If an object is found that matches your description we will contact you. We will then put you in touch with the finder or you can pick up the object at the town hall.

Always report the loss of a debit card to your bank immediately.

Always report the loss of your passport, identity card, driver's license or alien document directly to your municipality.
