Locations
Location 1
Question/complaint | Resident indicates dissatisfaction with maintenance of shrubs and flower beds in neighborhood |
On-site response | Senzer maintains green space for municipality on image quality They had to deal with a lot of staff attrition last year. |
Solution | Senzer has now deployed an extra flex shift to catch up. |
Question/complaint | Sir asks if a more walkable path could be made on the side of the Slenk behind the tree line next to De Rips for dog owners. In bad weather, or in winter, dog owners walk on the road in front of the tree line or on the sidewalk on the wrong side. According to resident, this could be solved with a narrow path of gravel or gravel at the back that would keep it passable at all times. |
On-site response | The land in question is partly owned by the water board. Therefore, the proposed solution cannot be implemented. They have had to deal with a lot of staff outages last year. |
Solution | Pruning back branches along the bike path allowing for wider mowing and creating a wider outlet lane is the only option. This will eliminate the need for pedestrians to use the bike path. This pruning and mowing work will be picked up in the fall. |
Location 2
Question/complaint | As of 2019, we live on Elzent in a home located on a residential street. The maximum speed here is 15 kilometers per hour. Because this street is fairly wide and there are no or few obstacles, the average speed here is significantly higher. Most cars definitely drive as fast as 30 and there are many outliers. Parcel delivery drivers in particular have high speeds, although that should come as no surprise. The problem is fairly easy to solve indicates the resident: "by designing the residential area as a residential area and not as a through road. |
On-site response | Although there is a sign at the entrance to Elzent as a residential area, large parts of Elzent are not laid out as parts of a residential area. On the more accessing parts of Elzent, footpaths and carriageway are distinguished in such a way that this long residential street looks like a regular residential access road with a 30 km/hour regime. Characteristics that turn a residential street into a residential area are lacking. This is also evident from the driving behavior of motorists. |
Solution | Research by the traffic engineer showed that 85% were not driving faster than 24 km/h. The only peaks then observed above 30 km/h were between 6:00 and 7:00 pm. At the times when residents come home. In general, it is a very quiet neighborhood. This is also confirmed by the data on accidents. If one compares this with the fact that not a single accident has been recorded since 2014, one may speak of a safe residential and living environment. Although there may well be excesses, these remain limited and, for the time being, give no reason to speak of a situation that in any way requires additional traffic measures. It has been investigated whether it would be useful to move or remove the residential area signs. However, residents have also indicated that they fear that people will drive even faster. It was therefore decided to maintain the residential area signs. In the rest of the area, drivers are asked to take their own responsibility. |
Location 3
Question/complaint | The trees on the Horst give a lot of lint, leaves and other debris. At certain times also twigs and lots of green pollen. There is occasional sweeping by the municipality but not in the traffic inlets. A lot of garbage remains and the car is constantly dirty. |
On-site response | Once every 7 weeks, the sweeper truck comes out to sweep the street. In the fall it is assisted by employees of Senzer who then prepare the leaves for the vacuum truck which then vacuums them up. |
Solution | Once every 7 weeks is regular; there is no extra sweeping. |
Question/complaint | In the bend of the Voort there are always cars which creates a dangerous situation as you cannot always get through. The resident also asks about the possibility of a parking ban or yellow line. |
On-site response | The bend in De Voort is a wide bend, which at appropriate speeds provides adequate visibility for traffic passing through it. The resident pointed out parking behind and in the bend. This parking, on a residential street, need not be a problem. |
Solution | Even if cars are parked within 5 meters of the center of the curve, there is ample opportunity for oncoming traffic to anticipate each other. While it can sometimes be difficult to get ahead of someone, that does not make a situation dangerous. Also evidenced by the fact that speeds are low both ahead, behind and inside the curve, makes the situation all but manageable for users. A parking ban, with signs or stripe supports, has no added value. The curve is so wide and long that on site it was already apparent that there is zero chance of anyone standing within the stated 5 meters. Therefore, it was recommended that no signs and/or stripe be placed. |
Question/complaint | Along the bike path from Voort to Wijst, the overgrowth is always too large. Onsite response: The overgrowth is cut by machine once a year so that the bike path remains accessible. |
Solution | This year's pruning is still scheduled. This will be carried out shortly. The vegetation on site is within the margin. The bike path on site is wide. There is no problem regarding the accessibility of the bike path. |
Question/complaint | The vegetation on the last stretch from Wijst to Burgemeester de Bekkerlaan hangs over the section of road. |
On-site response | Situation noted. |
Solution | This one has since been pruned. |
Question/complaint | In general, gardens/plants are poorly maintained. |
On-site response | Senzer maintains green space for municipality on image quality They had to deal with a lot of staff attrition last year. |
Solution | Senzer has now deployed an extra flex shift to catch up. |
Location 4
Question/complaint | Sweeping the street is done very often, which is good, but keeping up bushes and vegetation is bad. When hoeing and sweeping, it is often not cleaned up the same day so the trash blows apart again and it becomes a mess when it rains. |
On-site response | Sweeping was done only once a week after brushing. |
Solution | The frequency between brushing and sweeping has now been scaled up. Sweeping will be done twice from now on: on Wednesdays after brushing on Monday and Tuesday and on Fridays after brushing on Wednesday and Thursday. |
Question/complaint | The Hein de Wit park is very weathered and there is no good vista. |
On-site response | Situation noted. |
Solution | The method of maintenance is being changed, which also allows for more supervision of the many loitering youths. |
Question/complaint | The path between Ripsoever and the bridge appears to be a dog-walking area but is not, and there should be no bicycling on this path. |
On-site response | Situation noted. |
Solution | The BOAs take the path in question on their rounds when they check there. |
Question/complaint | The flowerbeds between Erf and Kouter are overgrown and very poorly maintained. |
On-site response | Situation noted. |
Solution | The flowerbeds will be taken in the fall to see if plant conversion is applicable there. |
Additional questions by several residents during the Look in the Neighborhood
Question/complaint | The bollards at bike path Eeuwsel have disappeared, this causes quite a few cars to drive on the bike path. Can these bollards be replaced? Also, the markings at the crossings have disappeared, creating dangerous situations. |
On-site response | The bollards will be returned. Regarding the marking(s) this will be placed on the program of the subject matter expert and investigated further by relevant. |
Conclusion | The bollards will be repaired by field service. Marking is in the planning for road management. |
Question/complaint | The bicycle crossing on South Om is very dangerous because of the 80 km/h road. |
On-site response | According to the traffic engineer, there will be a bicycle tunnel. The province has a decision in this. |
Conclusion | Already in progress. |
Question/complaint | Residents report that many private green spaces are not well maintained. |
On-site response | We as a municipality cannot do much about this. |
Conclusion | Residents are free to create an notification external link icon and request BOAs to review the situation on site. |
Question/complaint | The ditch Elzent causes a lot of nuisance due to high vegetation and mowing waste stays too long. This causes an odor nuisance. The ditch belongs to the water board, and the request is therefore whether the water board can adjust the maintenance. |
On-site response | The ditch belongs to the water board. As a municipality, we cannot and should not do anything about it. |
Conclusion | Residents can report / file a complaint at any time to the waterfront link icon. |
Question/complaint | Brushing and sweeping are not well matched. There is too much time in between, causing debris to blow onto the road. A resident also indicated that there is a lot of wear and tear left on the brushes. |
Question/complaint | A resident raised a question about the condition of the trees, and in particular a tree on Sester. |
On-site response | Trees are checked every 3 years. |
Solution | The tree in question on Sester will be pruned this fall. |
