Parking Waiver

Do you live in a blue zone? If so, you may be eligible for a parking waiver. This allows you to park your passenger car within the blue zone without restriction with the exception of the following parking areas:
- Parking area Kapelaanstraat
- Church Street
- Nieuwstraat
- Vroonhof
- Elisabeth Place East

The municipality grants a maximum of two waivers per address. On one permit you can enter two license plates that may use it. Please note, these license plates cannot park in the blue zone at the same time on one permit.

It is also possible for businesses to obtain a (temporary) exemption, provided the need for this is demonstrated.

If you want a change on your granted waiver, such as because you bought a new car, you must bring/send the following information:

• Copy of the registration certificate or copy of the lease contract;
• The waiver already granted; you may also turn it in when you come to pick up the new waiver.

The conditions you must meet to qualify for a waiver are described in the Blue Zone Waiver Policy.

For residents, the following applies:

• You must be a resident of a property in the blue zone;
• You must be 18 years of age or older and possess a driver's license;
• You cannot have private parking;
• A maximum of two waivers will be granted at one address;
• Residents of Nazareth Court are eligible for a waiver.

For businesses, an exemption is granted only in very exceptional cases. This includes the following:

• Your business must be located in the blue zone and registered in the Chamber of Commerce trade register at this address;
• Your company does not have (sufficient) private parking;
• There must be a demonstrable need to park the vehicle in the immediate vicinity of the business for a longer duration than the permitted parking time.

For companies that require an exemption as part of operations:

• You must demonstrate that your company needs to perform work in a blue zone;
• Your company is registered in the trade register of the Chamber of Commerce;
• You can demonstrate that your work can only be performed by parking the vehicle in question in the blue zone.

Waivers are valid for up to 2 years. The turnaround time is eight weeks.
