Playground Bakel becomes irresistible!

Some residents around this small flowerbed on the Speelweide in Bakel sounded the alarm: the woodland planting had completely grown over and children could no longer play there. As it turned out, during heavy showers this was one of the places in Bakel where inconvenience from water on the street was experienced. So a great opportunity to kill two birds with one stone!

Together with the residents, we worked out a plan to turn the parkway into a wadi. A place where water is drawn into the soil and where there is room again for children to play. In the redesign we chose to plant native fruit-bearing trees and shrubs, so that flora and fauna improve. Together we have 'transformed' this piece of Bakel from an unattractive public park into a beautiful climate-proof and therefore irresistible playing meadow in Gemert-Bakel!
