Whatsapp groups
WhatsApp groups are active in every core of our municipality. In WhatsApp groups, residents share current and concrete safety information about their own neighborhood with each other. Residents organize and manage these WhatsApp groups themselves. Both the municipality and the Police wholeheartedly facilitate and support this form of citizen participation.
Setting up your own WhatsApp group? Each core has its own contact person. Please contact this person! This person will help you further in setting up and registering the WhatsApp group.

Do you have a conflict with your neighbors or your neighbors and want to reach a solution (both of you)?
If so, contact neighborhood mediation. Neighbor disputes happen everywhere. A neighbor quarrel that starts innocently and gets out of hand, or a minor annoyance that grows higher and higher. Especially now that everyone is home a lot because of corona, tensions can increase. An unpleasant situation for neighbors and other residents of the street. It creates a sense of an insecurity. And no one wants to feel unsafe in their own neighborhood. Neighborhood mediators come into action when neighbors have a conflict and cannot resolve it themselves. For example in case of noise nuisance, quarrels about property division or nuisance caused by children.
How does neighborhood mediation work?
In neighborhood mediation, professionals and trained volunteers mediate between neighbors when they have a problem and can no longer resolve it themselves. It is best to engage the mediators before a situation has escalated. Often a few conversations are enough, but sometimes more is needed. We can help with that too. Within this offer we work together with .

Also become a neighborhood mediator?
People who want to become neighborhood mediators believe that you yourself ensure a pleasant living environment. Together, from a positive point of view. That is why they want to work for others, so that everyone benefits. Neighborhood mediators mediate on a voluntary basis. They receive free training to be able to assist neighbors as well as possible and work together with a fixed team of mediators.

For a good conversation
"I come into the picture in neighborly conflicts where those involved can no longer work things out on their own. In a neutral place we talk to each other. It gives me great satisfaction to see that the neighbors can move on," says neighborhood mediator Bart (43).
