Shopping hours law, exemptions
The Winkeltijdenwet provides rules on the opening hours of stores and the times when goods that are not in a store but on business may be offered for sale to private individuals. The Winkeltijdenwet offers possibilities for exemption from these rules. A general exemption allows all entrepreneurs to open their stores on Sundays.
How it works
You must submit a request for an exemption in writing to the Board of Mayor and Aldermen at least 4 weeks before the date in question. This deadline does not apply to the waiver request for an evening store; however, it may not open before a waiver is granted.
What does it cost?
For costs, please referto the current fee .
