Environmental permit, fire-safe use activity
For some buildings, fire safety is extra important. You then need an environmental permit for fire-safe use.
Instruction text: You can check online through the Environment Counter whether or not you need to apply for a permit.
These include, for example, situations where
- overnight lodging is provided to more than ten persons or
- day care to more than 10 persons under 12 years of age or with physical or mental disabilities.
This applies mainly to:

- hospital
- nursing home
- mental institution
- nursing home
Childcare
- nursery
- pre-school and after-school care
- preschool
Education for children under 12 years of age
- elementary school
Overnight
- hotel
- motel
- guesthouse
- inn
- shelter
- camping farm
Are you subject to licensing or reporting requirements?
With the "permit check" on the Environment Desk external icon, you can immediately see whether you need an environmental permit or whether a notification will suffice.
Requesting digitally
You can submit your application digitally via the link icon. Here you will also find the submission requirements.
As a citizen, you can also submit your application on paper (at the counter in City Hall or by mail).
Businesses cannot. They are required by law to submit applications digitally.
