This week is National Climate Week, a good time to take a look at what steps have been taken in the past year. Read along?

  • 407 m2 of green roof was installed.
  • 36 façade gardens have been installed. In other words, 36 more greenery in the streetscape.
  • 613.5 m2 of roof has been disconnected. Rainwater falling on these roofs no longer flows into the sewer system.
  • There are 5 electric sharing cars. More than 30 residents are already using them. The benefits? Lower costs, more sustainable and more street space.
  • With Gemert-Bakel full of energy we helped 100 homes, saving 43,104 kg of CO2 per year. This is equivalent to about 11 return flights from Eindhoven to Melbourne.
  • With Gemert-bakel isoleert, we helped 90 households insulate their homes.
  • The GRIP truck has been in the villages of Gemert-Bakel in September and will come again in November. A total of 3,545 kilos of usable waste and 949 kilos of small chemical waste were collected in September. Some of this waste would probably otherwise have ended up in the wheelie bin.

Did you know that assistance or subsidies are available for almost all of these topics? Look for the possibilities at www.en.gemert-bakel.nl/duurzaamheidexternal-link-icon.
