Questions and answers | Gemert-Bakel isoleert!

The conditions

Can I participate?

You are entitled to the grant if your home meets the following conditions:

  • WOZ value of the property is under € 429,300.
  • There are still two house sections to be insulated (with probably energy label D-E-F-G).
  • You don't have an energy label, but there are at least two building parts to insulate.
  • You own the property.
  • You live in the home.
  • The property is located in the municipality of Gemert-Bakel.
  • The measures must be implemented after the visit of an energy coach and after Sept. 2, 2024.
When can I not participate?

Unfortunately, you cannot use the grant if:

  • You live in a corporate residence.
  • The WOZ value of your home exceeds €429,300.
  • Your home has energy label A, B or C or you have only one building component to be insulated.
Where can I find my energy label?

The energy label is known if your home was recently bought or sold. You may be able to see the label via the Environment Center website at . Enter the type of property (rental or sale), your zip code and house number and click on 'Check energy label'.

From and until when can I register?

You can apply for the grant starting Sept. 2, 2024.

This project runs until December 31, 2026. However, we are bound by the agreements on nature-friendly insulation. This means that it is possible that we have already insulated in your neighborhood and you cannot start for the time being. So if you want to make sure you can participate, sign up as soon as possible!

How do I know if I belong to the target group?

After applying, an energy coach always visits you first. He or she assesses whether there are two parts of the house to be insulated. This tells us immediately whether you are eligible for the subsidy.

My information is not known, but I want to apply for a grant. What can I do?

Does your home have a WOZ value under €429,300 (reference date January 1, 2022) and is energy label D, E, F or G? Or do you think there are at least 2 building parts to insulate? But can't get any further on the website? Then send an email to contact@groenegroei.nl with the following information:

  • Your name
  • Your address, zip code and city
  • Your phone number and email address

You will receive a response within 2 business days.

The grant: amounts, application process and additional grants

What is the amount of the grant?

Residents of Gemert-Bakel municipality can receive up to € 2,151 subsidy per address for insulation measures. In addition, the municipality reimburses € 49,- for the visit of an energy coach. In total there is therefore a maximum of € 2,200 available per home, if it meets the conditions.

The energy coach always visits the home at the start of your subsidy application. The conditions for subsidy are laid down in the "subsidy regulation for local approach insulation", which are based on national requirements. Whether a house meets these conditions and which measures are best suited for the house and the resident, the energy coach draws up a report. Based on this report, the resident can (possibly with assistance) request non-binding quotes in the next step of the subsidy application.

Can I also apply for the grant retroactively?

No, you can't. The procedure unfortunately does not allow it.

How does it proceed once I have signed up?
  • Through the website, schedule a home visit (starting Sept. 2).
  • A (local) energy coach visits your home and looks at what measures are possible.
  • You will receive a quote for the insulation measures that may need to be carried out or you will request a quote yourself from a supplier you select.
  • The chosen party will schedule an appointment with you to perform the work.
  • Be sure to take pictures before, during and when the job is done.
  • Work will be performed.
  • You receive an invoice directly with a discount when you choose a quote from a pre-selected supplier. When you have selected your own supplier, you will receive an invoice for the entire amount and then submit it through the system. You will then receive your subsidy afterwards.
  • You can enjoy lower energy bills in a comfortable and warm home.
Are there any other subsidies I can take advantage of?
Can I also borrow money to insulate?

Yes, this can be done, for example, through the National Heat Fund external link icon.

Insulation measures

What measures do you offer and how do I know what is right for my home?
  • Roof insulation
  • Floor or bottom insulation
  • Cavity wall insulation
  • Façade insulation
  • Windows, doors and frame panels
  • CO2-controlled ventilation/ventilation with heat recovery

We always start with a home visit where an energy coach comes by. The energy coach looks at which measures are suitable for your home.

The implementation

Can I also get started insulating my home myself?

Yes you can.

  • Homeowners sign up (as of Sept. 2) through the platform on the webpage about insulatingexternal link icon.
  • After that, you also always make an appointment with an energy coach for more information.
  • Make sure photos are taken before, during and after isolation.
  • The resident then purchases materials and performs the insulation measures themselves. The subsidy is paid to the resident afterwards.
This Do It Yourself (DIY) method can only be used if it is also possible according to the agreements around nature-friendly insulationexternal-link-icon, such as floor insulation, replacing windows, insulating the inside of the roof.
Can I also add a heat pump?

Yes, you certainly can, but not within this project. With this insulation project, you are prepared to purchase a heat pump later.

Can I stay in my house during the work? What is the inconvenience?

Yes, you can stay in your home. Depending on the work, there will be minimal inconvenience.

What about mold?

Insulation helps directly against mold. When your home is no longer damp, you can have mold removed. With proper ventilation, it won't come back.

I have asbestos, can I still insulate?

Yes. All operations that do not involve touching asbestos are permitted, though remediation of asbestos is a wise choice. By this we mean removing/replacing the parts with asbestos.

Which implementers are already connected?

These performing companies have already been checked. The companies in the overview meet the conditions and agreements have been made with them about the working method (no price agreements have been made). You can request a no-obligation quote from them.
