Share cars municipality of Gemert-Bakel available for residents, self-employed, businesses and organizations

Since October 1, 2 shared cars are available in Gemert for residents and entrepreneurs of Gemert and employees of the municipality of Gemert-Bakel. This sustainable initiative came about on the initiative of the municipality and based on the results of an interest poll. 58% of the respondents indicated an interest in car sharing. The poll was conducted by the municipality of Gemert-Bakel, Brainport Bereikbaar and OnzeAuto. The first car sharers have already signed up.

How does car sharing work?

Many people have a car that sits idle most of the time. This causes many unnecessary costs and streets filled with parked (second) cars. By sharing a car, you not only share the cost of a car, but you also create more space in the neighborhood. Since the shared cars are electric, it is also a very sustainable option. All you need to share electric cars is the app on your phone. You can use the shared car to visit your family, go to the theater, but you can also go on a weekend trip or even on vacation!

Shared transport is a good idea because it is a sustainable way, you drive a new car without having to buy and maintain it yourself, and because electric shared cars emit less CO2 and particulate matter. The more residents and companies participate, the more cars can be placed in Gemert-Bakel.
