Situation Ukraine

Every Safety Region in the Netherlands must work with municipalities to provide shelter locations. We fall under the Safety Region of Brabant-Zuidoost and are working with fellow municipalities to find and make usable shelter locations. Initially, this will involve 1,000 places regionally, later another 1,000 reception places.

Within the municipality of Gemert-Bakel, approximately 150 Ukrainians are currently being received in various municipal shelters. These include some parsonages, former agricultural school, former monastery in Elsendorp and several houses in our municipality. In receiving the Ukrainians, there is cooperation with Goed Wonen and our village supporters also play a role in this. To meet the provision of sufficient reception places for Ukrainians, the former police station at the Komweg in Gemert will also be equipped to receive approximately 50 Ukrainians. For this purpose, the former police station will be renovated and the aim is that it can be put into use in December 2024.

Giro 555 is raising money for the Cooperating Relief Organizations. They help Ukrainians fleeing and those left behind. Check the Giro website for how to donate.

There is a handbook Private Shelter Ukrainians. It contains everything you need to know about reception at your home. You can find the latest version on the central government .
Among others:

• Call the municipality so that we can include Ukrainian refugees in the Basic Registration of Persons.
• After registration, refugees are eligible for an allowance. Since May 1, 2022, Senzer has been providing this allowance. In 2023, the amount of the allowance will change. For more information, visit Senzer's special .

Does your own GP or the GP you approach have no place for the Ukrainian refugee staying with you?

If so, contact the GHOR office of the Safety Region Brabant Zuidoost at opschalingghorbzo@vrbzo.nl. Mention OEK as the subject and indicate in the mail:

• Your address (street name, house number and zip code)
• At what number can you be reached?
• How many refugees are involved?
• Which general practitioner(s) have you already approached?

A staff member will contact you within 24 hours to find a solution.

Ukrainian people can travel freely to the Netherlands. Without a residence permit, they can stay in the Netherlands for 90 days. Ukrainians have received a special status from the EU that allows them to work in the Netherlands. For more information, visit the website of the Immigration and Naturalization Service-external (IND). During June 2022, it will be possible to make an appointment online at the IND to pick up a proof of residence. Keep an eye on the IND website.

Yes, there is a special insurance for Ukrainian refugees. You can find more information, including the terms and conditions, on the Appendix Liability Insurance for Individuals for the Benefit of Refugees from Ukraine.

If Ukrainian refugees are registered in the municipality, their children are entitled to education. They can attend the nearest school in Gemert-Bakel. If necessary, the compulsory education officer consults with parents about educational provision. Of course, there is room for them to recover from the situation they have been through first.

Refugees from Ukraine who are able and willing to work will have access to the Dutch labor market. The Cabinet removes the obligation to have a work permit. However, there are some conditions to give extra protection to this vulnerable group of people. For example, people may only work as employees. Also, the employee must be registered by the employer with UWV no later than two working days before starting work and the employer must provide information such as working hours and workplace. Read more on the website of the Labor and on the website of the . There is also a form there for employers to report.

The driving license is valid until 185 days after registration in the Netherlands, after which time only a Dutch driving license may be driven in the Netherlands. Exchange for a Dutch driving license is not possible. Theory and practical exams must be taken again (information on this at the CBRexternal link ).

WhatsApp

The Red Cross has started a WhatsApp helpline for Ukrainian refugees: phone number 06 - 48 15 80 53. Language of communication is Ukrainian and English.

Library De Lage has services that may also be useful for Ukrainian refugees:

• Free use of on-site collection
• Free use of computers
• Free membership for children up to 18 years of age
• Information point for help with digital contact with the government (use BSN number and DIGID)
• Language House for people who want to learn the Dutch language

Ukraine Cafe

Residents Vera van de Rijt and Léon van Dijck started a Ukraine Cafe. There refugees from Ukraine can meet and share their feelings and experiences or just catch up over coffee, tea and a cookie. Involved residents and Stichting Leergeld are present to answer questions about living in Gemert-Bakel and to help with advice. An interpreter will be present.

The Ukraine Café takes place in the restored refectory of the former convent Nazareth, Hof van Nazareth 53 in Gemert. You can visit there on the following dates:

• Even weeks: Wednesdays from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• Odd weeks: Fridays from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

They also publish a newsletter in 3 languages.

Ukrainian refugees can open a bank account through Payment Account for Ukrainian .

Refugees can report to the crisis emergency shelter at Castiliëlaan 8-21 in Eindhoven(note: this is a new address as of March 22, 2023). The crisis emergency shelter can also be reached by email at makelaarsoekraine@vrbzo.nl.The Safety Region (VRBZO) will first check whether another place is available in the region. If that is not the case, VRBZO engages the national coordination point to place the refugees elsewhere in the country. Of course, people are always free to look for another place to stay on their own without help from VRBZO.

Herewith the 13th newsletter of the Ukraine Café. If you have any questions please let us know. Together with our volunteers we will look for answers and if necessary we will involve other organizations. We also continue to look for activities that suit you. See further in this newsletter the performances of Vlada and GO_A at the Liberation Festival in Den Bosch.

Ukraine Cafe meetings

The "regular" Ukraine Café meeting is on Friday, April 14, from 10 - 12 am. The next Ukraine Café evening will be on Friday, April 28, and there will be a very special guest.

Performing for you then will be Vlada Nabutovska. This violinist from Kiev plays in one of Kiev's symphony orchestras. She too has fled and now lives in Griendtsveen. We are very honored that she is coming to perform in the Ukraine Café and it promises to be a very special evening. Besides classical pieces Vlada will also perform modern works and pop songs. This time again VOL=FULL. We can place a maximum of 80 people in the chapel.

The next meeting of the Ukraine Cafe is on Friday, May 12, and the evening meeting is on May 26. Then the music will be provided by Koen Sieben on guitar together with Jos Geerts on harmonica. They will perform a very varied program from Elvis to Jimi Hendrix and from Frank Sinatra to their own work by Cooking John.

World Cuisine Gemert

In the previous newsletter we paid extensive attention to the World Kitchen, the World Studio and the World Garden. Inspired and moved inhabitants of Gemert are working together with women from various countries to make the various activities a great success. On Monday, July 3, there is still room for a new "world" kitchen and that will be the Ukrainian kitchen. Several Ukrainian women have already signed up to help. If you feel like it and have time let us know at veravanderijt@gmail.com
So it is about a simple meal that people from Gemert can pick up. There are enough people to help prepare the meal, also preparing and choosing dishes is done together. Usually cooking is started the day before in Villa Polder so on Sunday, July 2, we will start preparing.

World Workshop

On Tuesday evenings the World Workshop is Broekstraat 39. There is then handiwork in a fine ambiance on such items as children's aprons, pillows, spice bags. These products are sold at the annual market. The next dates are: April 18, May 9 and 23. The evenings are from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. One of the Ukrainian women has already joined the World Workshop. World Garden

Finally, the World Garden, a collaboration with Heerlijck Hopveld (VELT) in Gemert. Own herbs, vegetables and fruits are grown there from various countries. In the Wereldtuin, people work together every Saturday to update and maintain the garden. Many of the products are used again in the World Kitchen. Two Ukrainian men are already actively working in the garden. If you are interested in helping out, please contact Vera.

Children's holiday week Gemert-Handel

Children as young as 4 can participate in this year's Kindervakantieweek, themed " In the Circus," which will be held from Tuesday, August 22 to Friday, August 25 at the Wolfbosch Circuit on Energieweg in Gemert. Several Ukrainian children have already registered. You can still register until Friday, April 14. Sign up quickly with Vera, she will help with registration.

Going out tips

0 Sunday, April 23, starting at 2 p.m., is the Historical Parade of the Boerenbondsmuseum. The start is at Ridderplein and the procession departs from there via Kerkstraat, Nieuwstraat, Haageijk, Kruiseind and Pandelaar to the Boerenbondsmuseum. Through old crafts, machines, cars, etc. a picture is given of life in a Brabant village between 1900 and 1940. Very worthwhile.

Ukraine Cafe meetings

Зустрічі Ukraine Cafe

"Звичайна" зустріч в Ukraine Café відбудеться у п'ятницю, 14 квітня, з 10:00 до 12:00. Наступний вечір Ukraine Café запланований на п'ятницю 28 квітня за участі особливої гості.

Для вас виступить Влада Набутовська - київська скрипалька, яка грає в одному з київських симфонічних оркестрів. Вона також була змушена покинути України і зараз живе в Ґріндтсвені. Для нас велика честь, що вона виступатиме в Ukraine Café, це буде особливий вечір. Окрім класичних творів, Влада виконує також сучасні творита естрадні пісні. Максимальна кількість відвідувачів складає 80 чоловік.

Наступна зустріч Ukraine Café відбудеться у п'ятницю 12 травня, потім - 26 травня, на якій виступатимуть Koen Sieben на гітарі та Jos Geerts на гармоніці. Вони виконуватимуть різноманітну програму від Елвіса до Джимі Хендрікса та від Френка Сінатри до Кукінга Джона.

Світова кухня Gemert

У минулому інформаційному бюлетені ми приділили велику увагу World Kitchen, World Atelier та World Garden. Ентузіасти та віддані жителі Гемерта працють разом з жінками з різних країн, щоб успішно організовувати різноманітні заходи. За потреби вітаються і чоловіки, зокрема у Світовому саду. Готуватимо просту страву, якою зможуть поласуватип жителі Гемерта. Людей, які допомагають приготувати їжу, є достатньо, приготування та вибір страв також спільно узгоджується. Зазвичай приготування їжі починається напередодні на віллі Полдер, тому в неділю, 2 липня, ми розпочинаємо заздалегідь.

Світове Ательє

У вівторок ввечері на Broekstraat 39 проходитиме World Atelier. Дитячі фартушки, подушки, мішечки з травами та багато іншого виготовляються у чудовій атмосфері. Ця продукція опісля продається на щорічному ринку. Захід відбувається 18 квітня, 9 та 23 травня з 19:00 до 21:00. Одна з українок вже приєдналасся до Wereldatelier. Якщо ви теж хочете піти на такий вечір, повідомте Вірі.

Світовий сад

Нарешті the World Garden, у співпраці з Heerlijck Hopveld (VELT) буде організовано у Гемерті. Тут вирощують трави, овочі та фрукти з різних країн. Щосуботи у Світовому саду ми разом працюємо над його доглядом. Багато продуктів використовуються в світовій кухні. Двоє українців вже активно працюють на городі. Якщо ви зацікавлені в допомозі, будь ласка, зв'яжіться з Вірою.

Тиждень дитячих канікул Гемерт-Гендель.

Цього року діти віком від 4 років можуть брати участь у Тижні Дитячих Канікул з темою "У цирку", який проходитиме з вівторка по п'ятницю 22-25 серпня на автодромі Вольфбош на Energieweg у Gemert. Кілька українських дітей вже зареєструвались. Реєстрація триває до п'ятниці 14 квітня. Звертайтесь до Віри, якщо бажаєте взяти участь.

Поради щодо виходів

У неділю, 23 квітня, о 14:00 розпочнеться історичний парад Farmers' Union Museum. Початок - на площі Ріддерплейн, а звідти процесія вирушає через Kerkstraat, Nieuwstraat, Haageijk, Kruiseind та Pandelaar до Boerenbondsmuseum. За допомогою старих ремесел, машин, автомобілів і т.д. відображається образ життя в селі Брабант між 1900 і 1940 роками. Рекомендуємо до уваги.

Неділя, 23 квітня: виставка квілтингу та живопису групи живопису Старшої асоціації KBO у каплиці Назарету. Доступ вільний.

Об 11:00 відбудеться прикрашений велосипедний парад, який розпочнеться в Dientje. У Buskens і Thou&I виступатиме кавер-гурт з ді-джеєм - "Now that we are there. З 19.30 вечірку завершить DJ Irmo.

Середа, 3 травня - велосипедна прогулянка навколо Gemert на іподромі в Scheiweg.
