Plans for MFA The Schans and redevelopment of public space

The municipality of Gemert-Bakel is shaping parts of the center plan such as the construction of a new multifunctional accommodation (MFA) De Schans and the redesign of the public space. The new MFA offers modern facilities for sports, culture and community activities. The redevelopment will create a more attractive center for all residents.

Alderman Hanneke Coppens indicated, "The development of an MFA and the redesign of the public space are important parts of the center plan. This is what we as a college remain committed to. These projects are an important step to improve the livability of Milheeze. We also continue to invest in housing construction. It contributes to a lively and connected Milheeze.

Housing construction in De Berken and Milheeze Oost

In addition to the development of a new MFA and the redesign of public space in the center, many new homes are being built in Milheeze. In De Berken and Milheeze Oost there will be about 120 new homes. This expansion is important and will ensure that Milheeze remains an attractive place to live.

Social housing in other locations

Joke Abbring, director-director of Goed Wonen, explains the adjustment in the plans for social housing: 'We have decided not to purchase the church in Milheeze and not to build housing at this center location. We made this decision because the plans within the framework of the center plan are not financially feasible for us. We will, however, build a total of over 30 social housing units at other locations in Milheeze. In this way, we continue our efforts to increase the availability of affordable housing and contribute to the livability of this village center.
