Sewage or waste materials discharge to sewer system
For individuals
In Gemert-Bakel almost every house has a connection to the sewer system. Do you live in the outlying area and do not yet have a sewer connection? Then you can apply for an exemption to discharge household wastewater into the soil. This exemption is subject to conditions set by the municipality. It is best to contact the sewerage specialist of the Public Management team.
In certain cases, permission from the water board is also required. An example is the discharge of wastewater to surface water by means of a septic tank.
You are not allowed to discharge wastewater outside the sewer system. If you do, you risk a fine.
Cost and lead time
Applying for a waiver is free of charge. The expected processing time for an application varies by situation.
For companies
If your company wants to discharge wastewater to the municipal sewage system, you need a permit from the water board. In addition, the conditions in this permit must be coordinated with the environmental permit (environmental activity) your company may have. The municipality carries out this task. Discharge requirements vary by type of company or establishment. For more information, please contact your case manager from the Permit & Supervision team.
The municipality is manager of the public sewer system, and for company discharges in the outlying area there are conditions for discharging to this sewer system because it has limitations in terms of discharge capacity.
Lead time
The expected turnaround time for an application varies by situation.
Temporary discharge at events
You may wish to discharge wastewater temporarily. Examples include the discharge of temporary toilets, melt water at fish stalls and condensation and rinse water at beer installations. This is therefore the temporary discharge of wastewater at events and pitches. Please indicate this when applying for your event permit.
The municipality specifies where you may discharge your wastewater. You must provide your own connection to the wastewater sewer.
