Financial relief for monuments
Monument Savings Fund (MSF).
As owner of a national or municipal monument you are eligible, under certain conditions, for a subsidy from the monument savings fund. The monument savings fund was created by the municipality of Gemert-Bakel and is intended as a contribution towards the maintenance of your monument. In practice, this means that you can reclaim 50% of the owner's portion of the property tax if you spend this amount on maintaining your property.
To guarantee this, your property is visited once every two years by the Monumentenwacht, who draws up a report on the condition of your building. Conditions for subsidy are that you join the collective subscription to the Monumentenwacht Noord-Brabant, and that you maintain your monument well. The subscription and inspection costs of the Monumentenwacht are paid by the municipality through a collective subscription.

Monuments Watch
The Monumentenwacht is an independent body that aims to help prevent the decay of cultural-historically important buildings by taking preventive measures. The organization tries to achieve that goal by periodically carrying out building inspections, giving maintenance advice to the owner/manager and carrying out minor repairs if necessary. The underlying idea is that defects can be repaired at an early stage at relatively low cost. Repairing a defect, and especially the consequent consequential damage, at a later stage always requires larger sums of money. If you have a subscription with the Monumentenwacht , they periodically check the property and draw up a report listing the maintenance defects and recommendations for maintenance.
National Restoration Fund (NRF).
Nationaal Restauratiefonds is a private, independent foundation that provides financing to monument owners (national and municipal) for the restoration and preservation of their property. Whether an owner is actually eligible for a subsidy or financing, and what the possibilities are in that case, depends on various factors, such as the status of the monument, possible concurrence with other schemes and the owner's financial situation. Restoration Fund staff can advise you on .
