Look in the neighborhood 2024
After the first editions of "Kijk in de Wijk" in 2022 and 2023, another set of dates were planned for 2024. In 2024 it was the turn of the five smaller cores (Handel, De Rips, De Mortel, Elsendorp and Milheeze). The purpose of the neighborhood watch is to take stock of issues that are important in the public space. Together with residents, neighborhood managers and specialists walked through the neighborhood and talked to residents. What could be improved? What is going well? Together we can improve things.
In touch
We talk to residents so that we can hear what is going on and at the same time explain existing policies and projects. The 'Look in the Neighborhood' offers the opportunity to discuss and witness larger, more complex issues or situations for which there is no ready-made solution. The 'Look in the Neighborhood' is not intended to collect individual reports. For this, residents can contact the municipality through the regular channels, such as the MOR report.
Social themes
Topics can range from making a square more attractive, to thoughts about traffic, greenery and play. During a Look in the Neighborhood it is not about individual wishes, but about subjects that concern the entire neighborhood. For example, last year in Gemert and Bakel extra benches were placed in the public space, sidewalks were lowered for the benefit of disabled residents and here and there extra green maintenance was done.
When will we be in your neighborhood?
The Kijk in de Wijk editions of 2024 have now taken place. This year we visited the church villages of De Mortel, De Rips, Elsendorp, Handel and Milheeze in April and May. The reports will be published on this web page in the near future. Below are the reports of the editions of previous years.
