Registered partnership

You report your registered partnership via'arrange online registered partnership with '. For this you will also need a copy of the valid IDs of both of you and the witnesses. It is useful to collect this information before you start the notification.

Do you both not live in the Netherlands and do you and/or your partner hold Dutch nationality? If so, you can only report your registered in the municipality of 's-Gravenhage (The Hague) at

1. The notification of intended registered partnership is valid for one year from the date of receipt by the registrar.
2. There should be at least 14 days between the date of receipt of the notification of intended registered partnership and the partnership registration. It is desirable to make the notification in a timely manner.
3. The digital notification for registered partnership is an application by which you express a preference for a specific date and time. We as a municipality have chosen to allow only one registered partnership per whole hour. If there are multiple requests for the same date and time you will be contacted.

The Parochiehuis in Bakel and the wedding hall in the town hall in Gemert are the fixed locations. However, you can enter into a registered partnership at almost any location in Gemert-Bakel. To do so, both partners must fill out a form that must also be signed by the location manager.

You are responsible and accountable for the safety of the venue. If you are celebrating a registered partnership at the location then you may need to apply for an event permit.

Cost depends on date, time and location.

As of 01-01-2020, free partnership registrations will be performed at City Hall on Monday mornings at 9:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m., respectively. Apart from the partners, only two witnesses may be present. It is a very simple ceremony, with no speech. There is a charge of €49.30 for a partnership booklet.

Your registered partnership will be celebrated by an extraordinary registrar, a BABS. If you have a preference for a particular BABS, please indicate this on the declaration of intended registered partnership. We will take this into account as much as possible. You cannot indicate a preference for a free registered partnership.
