You report your intended marriage via'arrange online marriage with '. In doing so, you will also need a copy of the valid identity documents of both of you and the witnesses. It is useful to collect this information before you start the notification.

Do you both not live in the Netherlands and do you and/or your partner hold Dutch nationality? Then you can only report your intended marriage in the municipality of 's-Gravenhage (The Hague .

1. The notification of intended marriage is valid for one year from the date of receipt by the registrar.
2. There should be at least 14 days between the date of receipt of the notification of intended marriage and the marriage ceremony. It is desirable to make the notification in a timely manner.
3. The digital notification for intended marriage is an application by which you express a preference for a specific date and time. We as a municipality have chosen to allow only one marriage per whole hour. If there are multiple requests for the same date and time you will be contacted.

The Parochiehuis in Bakel and the wedding hall in the town hall in Gemert are the fixed locations. However, you can perform a marriage at almost any location in Gemert-Bakel. To do so, both partners must fill out a form that must also be signed by the location manager.

You are responsible and liable for the safety of the venue. If you are marrying on location then there is a possibility that you may need to apply for an event permit.

Cost depends on date, time and location.

As of 01-01-2020, free of charge marriages will be performed at City Hall on Monday mornings at 9:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. Apart from the partners, only two witnesses may be present. It is a very simple ceremony, with no speech. There is a charge of €49.30 for a marriage booklet.

Your marriage will be performed by an extraordinary civil registrar, a BABS. If you have a preference for a particular BABS, please indicate this on the declaration of intended marriage. We will take this into account as much as possible. You cannot indicate a preference for a free wedding.

Would you like your marriage to be performed by a BABS working for another Dutch municipality? This is possible. For this, the BABS can use the form for a BABS working for another .
