The housing need for the municipality's own residents is great. The Southeast Brabant region also faces the challenge of the jump in scale. With the growth of the knowledge-intensive and manufacturing industry, the demand for jobs and housing is enormous. As a municipality of Gemert-Bakel, we make an important contribution to the social challenges to increase the attractiveness of the municipality and the region. To keep this in balance, we make housing agreements at provincial, regional and local level.

Quickly build as many homes as possible

Municipality of Gemert-Bakel is going to grow to 35,000 inhabitants. This growth offers opportunities to continue to provide an attractive living and housing environment. We aim to realize 2,400 housing units in our municipality over the next 10 years. We give attention to accelerating housing construction.

In order to use official capacity as efficiently as possible, the Board of Mayor and Aldermen has chosen to prioritize the projects that will provide acceleration as soon as possible. Plenty of effort is being put into the projects that can be realized quickly and which will build the type of housing needed in our village.

Prioritized projects

The map shows which projects have been prioritized and will be developed in the coming years in Gemert-Bakel municipality. Prioritizing these projects means that the municipality, together with the developers of these projects, will speed up development.
